My computer is infected with something called SpySheriff.
The name of the file I cannot get rid of is the browsela.dll file.
I have googled it and tried everything but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas appreciated.

If you have system restore on, then you maybe able to get rid via a system restore to a later date than you first noticed the problem.
