Try this in a DB7/Havoc, oh wait we have no wind!

Post by Pegasusbelgar »

This is the terrifying moment a gust of wind tilts a passenger plane's wings towards a runway - and inches away from disaster.

More than 140 people were on board the A310 as it hit the tarmac while its pilots battled against stormy weather in Lajes in the Azores.

Plane spotter Paulo Santos has travelled the world photographing every type of aircraft.

that pilot is way behind the aircraft.
ATIS would have given him ample warning of conditions on the runways.
He should have been ready for it. There are no control inputs showing! Not even a touch of rudder.

Good photo tho'

Maybe, but it's possible the pilot is right on top of it or even being too aggressive with the control inputs. It could be that he is inputting control movements but the computer is overriding due to the conditions at the moment (i.e. not a good thing to be putting full rudder and stick hard over when your 25ft off the runway regardless of the winds). I think one of the differences between the French-built planes and American-built planes is who is really in control of the plane, the pilot or the computer.

Where's Codguy when you need his input? :)

Oh, and I have seen landings like that in game. Lithu lands like that. For Lithu, that's a normal landing. :P

Yes, the approach and landing were interesting to say the least.
