Factory Graphs

This is somthing that has been bugging me for awhile now. Killbans graphs are excellent but they dont show individual factories, they just show the towns as a hole. So what Ive done for the last three weeks has been developing a way to have graphs for individual factories. Its been quite a headache but they still arent quite finished, i still need two more things. One being a full proof way of executing all the files in order silently and the second being a schedule so the execution file runs every 5mins or so. Anyway heres the semifinal product: http://snipets.myvnc.com/Factory_Graph/ ... .m+1h.html Ive added in manual data to show how it would look for now as it is not auto updating yet.

Its the same basic Factories Data page but with added factory graphs. There are 4 different versions of the page, the 1st being the page with Maps and 1 Hour Graphs, the 2nd With just 1 Hour Graphs, the 3rd with Maps and 1 Day Graphs, and the 4th with 1 Day Graphs.

anyone got any ideas of running .vbs and .bat files on a scheduled basis?


P.S.

heres how it works

1 .bat that deletes all of the old files
2 .vbs script to download the .xml data
3 .vbs to replace the factory id numbers with their names
4 .bat that separates the factories by name
5 .bat that inputs a word into the new files
6 .vbs to replace some of the info with certain text so it will be formatted correctly

ok i figured it out, they are now auto updating. they update every 3.5 mins

after work im going to make a run on a factory and see how fast the data CSR puts out updates then adjust the time to that.

Awesome Job Sniper. Get it finished up and ready for release, we will add that to the main page if you would like. Hopefully we can get Main4ce to fix up the HTML of the front page for that.

well its pretty much finished, i can change the HTML on all the home pages i just need access to the FTP server. ive got to looks around for it...


one thing i did find out about altering the HTML code of the page was that at the very bottom of the page there is a line of text that prompts the user to download somthing. this is what it is http://snipets.myvnc.com/Factory_Graph/ ... es/a.xhtml every time i tryed to load the graph pages on IE explorer it would pop up the prompt t0 download it. so i deleted the line from my pages and it solved the problem. wierd



P.S. I tryed to do this about 4-6months ago and after trying for a week or two i gave up sayin it was impossible. but after learning some stuff about scripting and trying it again, it just show if there is a will there is a way. so dont give up on anything

do we know what the website runs on? as the graphs run on a bunch of batch and vbs scripts it has to be ran on a windows platform. im wondering if i put the files on the server if it would run or not... as then i wouldnt have to keep my server up 24/7 as this one already is

hmmm sounds interesting.... ill look into what kind of info KFS1 is putting out that could be that info
