Hello and a introduction

Post by Pegasusbelgar »

Hello.

First of all I would like to thank you for all the warm welcome i received lastnight when I asked to join 617 Dambusters Sqdn, it was a pleasure of be part of what seem a great bunch of pilots who were warm, friendly and at times on teamspeak quite amusing.

Alittle about myself:

I am 35 years of age, and living in Oxfordshire, England. I have a huge interest in aviation spreading from modern day to ww2 and also WW1. Anything with wings and rotors interest me. I merely got into aviation through my father who was a Army Air Corp helicopter pilot flying Scouts (Wasps Navy version) back in the 70s and early 80s. I wanted to follow his career but due to a hearing disability is was not to be. So I have worked with computers for the last 8 years.

Not to be done by what the Armed Forces or the CAA failing me on medical, I still managed to pass my gliding licence about 9 years ago which i enjoyed alot.

About how i got into Flightsims, 8 years ago I started playing a online flight sim called Warbirds, by the time I joined the people running it then broke away to start their own sim which many of you know and heard of called Aces High. In my time flying Warbirds I belonged to a squad funny enough called 617 Dambusters Sqdn, we flew under a command wing called Tangmere Wing consisting of 249 Sqdn, 633 Sqdn. I flew B17's, B24's and also B25's. It was a great joy to fly with a bunch of guys in close formation flying deep into enemy lines and dropping bombs on ports, airfields and factories, though nothing like the RDP strategy we have in WW2Online.

I started playing WW2Online back in 2001, taking part in beta and getting to know the original crew Mo, Doc etc. Since then and over the last few years I have been in and out of WW2O trying the naval side which I still enjoy and the army life. I decided to give the Air Force another go and with my new computer and monitor I found it much more pleasurable and thus to say I decided to look around for a squad for which I can call home.

I am sure in my stay I will learn a great deal from you guys brushing up on my technique and flying.

Thanks again and see you above the clouds!

Belgar-

Welcome aboard m8. Although unfortunately I haven't been online much this weekend and haven't had the pleasure of "meeting" you in game yet, sounds like you'll fit right in with all of us crazy fools.

Always great to get new squaddies, especially some additional Euro TZ players. Know Thor and Main4ce will love the company (more work for Allibone, though...but he's up to it), and I usually make it online early enough to catch you guys before you all turn in for the evening.

Anyway, a great big welcome and look forward to flying with you soon.

S!

S! Belgar. Nice to see you in the 617 Dambusters. Hopefully, I'll get to do a Strat run with you sometime which I don't get to do often enough. Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard m8. I think you'll find that a good percentage of us are long time players as well. In fact, most of the original squad were ground pounders. Hell, it took us months to get hiiamben out of the damn trees.....roflmao.

I think you'll like this bunch. We're nutz, I'll warn ya. However, you'll have a hell of a lot of fun with us.
