Anyone interested in history? Just got word from a friend of mine in Atlanta. Next weekend, I believe at Charlie Brown Airport, there will be a working B17 Flying Fortress selling rides. You will be strapped down for takeoff and landing, however, during flight, you will be allowed to move around the plane to the different positions.
My buddy is signing up for his ride on Saturday the 17th. Cost of the flight is $450.00 US Dollars. I cannot afford the flight, however, I'll be there to take pictures of the event.
If anyone in or near the Atlanta area is interested in this, post here and I will provide you with the details. Rides must be reserved in advance of the weekend.

I saw the advertisement a couple of weeks ago and entertained the thought of taking a flight, but ultimately decided against it. Australia/New Zealand in 2008 is more important. I just heard and read on ClarkHoward.com that United is offering $818.00 R/T tickets from Atlanta to Sydney. I hope they have a similar sale next year.

Cono, all you have to do if you want to save a few bucks coming out to Australia is this:
Buy a cheap ticket to England.
Steal a loaf of bread.
The buggers will sail you out here on a convict ship, set you up with all the sun, surf and scenery you could ever use, and they'll think it's punishment.
Might have to do a bit of manual labour, but hard work has never hurt anyone.

All of that sounded just fine until you mentioned hard work.

A mere formality Cono. The hardest part is grabbing the beer out of the ice (your hand gets cold) and cracking the top off it (your fingernail can get sore after a while).
WHEW!!! I was worried there for a minute. I can handle that "hard work".
