ROFLMAO. I put away Scotch Bonnets and Hallipinia's in Cider Vinegar every year. First time I did it, I cleaned em all up, cut em in half and put them in the vinegar. Was sweating and wiped my forhead and eyes. It was much later in the night before I recovered.

As a chef I've done both, and let me just say there are a couple of other things I'll prefer do...

I don't know how many times I've chopped fresh red chili pepper and scratched (?) my eye.

Another funny thing is fresh ginger, smells good, and kind of sweet. We used to tell all the new apprentices to smell - and then taste it. It's hot as hell... lol

...or when we asked them to go to the next door restaurant an borrow a fresh packed bag of vacuum... priceless
...or just ask them to but on 5 liters (1 and something gallon) of water and let it boil down to 2 liters... hihihi

Some other good tricks for apprentices:

Send them to the warehouse for a "long weight". The warehouse staff will sit them in the corner for a "long wait".

Send them out for a bucket of steam.

Send them out for a left handed screwdriver.

Send them out for a 12 inch populating tool.

it's like ingame when you tell a new pilot to start engine with jettison key...

LMAO I'll have to try that sometime... There are a small number of pain-in-the-arse pilots I would have been happy to get rid of that way (no names mentioned).
