Got home at 2345. Ouch! What a freakin day.
Sniper62, my RL job (besides dropping iron on Axis factory workers), is Director of Quality Assurance for a manufacturing company. I only get to hear about 'problems' at the customer...never a 'job well done'.

Be back in game tomorrow night! <crosses fingers, rubs lucky rabbit's foot, picks four-leaf clovers, wishes upon a falling star>

Mevan, we're certified to three different standards:
ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management Systems
ISO 9001 Quality Management System
ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

I had a good sign this morning...I did see a falling star otw to work.

All that ISO...
The amount of paperwork must be staggering!
Australia had a real push towards quality assurance a few years back especially for government contracts, but the idea got railroaded when everybody found that costs went up dramatically.
These days ISO 9001 etc. is only usually called for if there is a risk of life and limb if standards aren't met.
The company I work for now is quality assured, and it adds so much more time and effort to everything, but if we screw up people can die (or at least have serious health problems) so it's worthwhile having the ISO certification.
At another company I worked for we thought about setting up a QMS, but only really so that we could have it on paper that we were certified so as to keep the clients happy. When push came to shove though, it was too expensive to set up and maintain, and the quality of our product was so high that it would have far exceeded any levels set by a QMS.
I can appreciate that you only ever hear the bad news from customers... Nobody will ring you to say that everything is fine.... But if the sh!t hits the fan, who do they call?
