Friendly Reminder

Post by Charlie3 »

cut and pasted from The Salvation Army network:

Beginning September 16, 2006, all cell (and regular land-based) phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS if you use a cell phone.... To prevent this, call the following Federal Trade Commission number from your cell phone (or from the phone you want to register):

1-888-382-1222

This is the National DO NOT CALL Registry and it is FREE to register. It will only take a minute of your time. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days.

It blocks your number for five (5) years. You can also go to: www.donotcall.gov and register... or file your complaint there if you receive a sales call and you are registered.

NOTE:
1. To file a complaint now, your phone number must have been on the registry for 31 days.
2. To file a complaint, the FTC needs the date you got the call, and either the name or telephone number of the company that called you.

Hmm I did all that once, you mean to say that the list expires every five years?

That sounds like about how long it's been.

Frikkin' asshole telemarketers anyway!

Thanks Charlie!
