As you all know I've been away on military training. All went well. But on the trainings last day I got a call from a hospital - my dad was in a very bad condition, and I had to get to the hospital asap. He didn't die, but it was very close - that was a shock and not the way I wanted to end this years training... He's much better now, but still in the hospital. This is taking much of my time right now.

Then today I got a call asking if I could host some US National guard soldiers on a "buddyweekend" from friday till sunday. I said "OK - give me four of them...". So I'm going to be busy this weekend aswell...

Monday morning I'm taking my wife (we are getting married this summer) and our three kids to London. Four days of fish and chips heaven... LOL

Conclusion: All is well, and I'll soon be back...

Sorry to hear about your Dad Thor, glad to hear it's OK now. It looks like it's been one of those months, with Duke, your Dad, and my Dad has been a bit out as well.
Have fun with the Buddy weekend, I'm sure it will be a good time for all concerned.
And congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I'm reading about duke and I thinking about him and his family - I don't know how they feel, but I hope they are strong.

***

I just got back from the hospital and it's the end for my father. The second operation was OK, but his condition is fatal. It looks like cancer in one of his organs. I don't know the English name - and it's not important for me to know... We don't know how long he will live, but it could be a short time. I spoke with the doctor and I made it clear that we want nature to guide us. If his heart stops it stops - if his lungs stop working... ...

My dad has had a very good life. He is an artist and he has always been playful and looked on the bright side of life. If it ends now it’s OK. He don’t want to be hospitalizes for many years. I’m very sad and I really don’t want to lose my dad, but I rather want him to die peacefully now, than keep him artificially a live for a long and uncomfortable time.

Nature, life and God rules over us humans – and however painful it is – that’s the way it should be.

I’m still taking the kids to London on Monday. We all need to get some distance and I don’t want to burden my kids with to much sadness. Life goes on.

Very Sad to hear Dev. I hope his passing is peaceful.
I wish I had something to say that would make you feel better but I know that only time will do that.

I lost my father when I was about seven years old and it was very hard to deal with because I couldn't understand why it happened.

I'm glad to hear your father had a good, creative, happy life.

Celebrate that life and all the good things that were in it.
Remember that YOU are one of those good things!

I salute him!

I'm very sorry to hear that Thor.
Like TZ I don't really know what to say, whatever I could say would be pretty meaningless...
But my thoughts are with you, and I wish the best for you and your family.

Dad died Tuesday.

He was unconscious and/or in a very deep sleep, and I do not think he knew anything. He had no pain, but he was a bit uncomfortable – fluid in his lungs.

I am glad he died fast and did not suffer. I sat with him every day, right up until the end. He did not really understand how ill he was. He was confused and blurry (if you know what I mean…). The last four days I could not get any contact at all.

My brother arrived from US today – he did not make it in time. Nevertheless, we will arrange the funeral together and everything else that needs to be done.

All the best to you and your family thor. I know it's a painful time but it seems to me things happened the way you he and your family desired.

God bless and let us know if there is anything any of us can do.
